<snip>
I did the pricing on terminal server with win2k not long ago...you ahve to do the following
not me, but it wouldn't surprice me if you still have to pay the NT 4 Wkstn
licence + terminal client licence, plus the server licence, even if you run
linux and rdesktop, you do, if you got an older version of windows, i.e. if
you run win 3.11, or win95/98 you will have to pay for an upgrade licence to
nt 4 wkstn...
1) a win2k enterprise license (like $900)
2) a win2k pro licenseor a terminal server client license. ($like
$200, if you get the upgrade)
3) a license for each application you are sharing out per client/pro
license (office is how much? $700)
so like $1800...in the price range of a solid desktop system
this can be rather pricey for the company in any event. i am fortunate
here in that we have site licenses for everything microsoft, so I can pretty
much run whatever I like. I could even put a terminal server ina vmware
session and run that ;)
