Menu scrambled when connecting to WinXP

Hi

I am using Rdesktop 1.1.0 on Mandrake 8.1.  I can connect to my WinXP box
and everything works great, except that the menus (the bar generally near
the top of every windows with items like file, edit, help, etc) are a
little bit messed up.  They appear and work, except that the fonts are
generally unreadable.  This isn't too much of a concern for me as I've
memorized most of the commands I use, but it would be nice to be able to
read the menus in case I need to do something else.  How can this be
fixed?  I read through the archives, but wasn't able to find an answer.
