key cluster out of whack

I'm new to rdesktop, moving from a wine implementation of mstsc, and I'd
like to know
if there is a patch to get the key cluster working correctly (or if I've
got my
setup wrong and its just my key cluster).  If my numlock is on, then
the client acts like it is turned off, and the number keys work as arrows. 
If numlock
is off, then the number keys are activated.  Same
problem with the separate arrow keys.  I'm running a NT4SP6 WTS, standard
US keyboard.
