See the list archive on rdesktop.org: there were some posts earlier on. 
As I understand it Matt is currently too busy with other stuff - I believe
he's the same Matt Chapman who is part of the Samba development team.

The code is quite nicely structured: I wrote a few of the patches. 
Incidentally, I've also been working through it in my spare time trying to
port it to java (although I haven't had much time for that lately).
