My metaframe experience is very limited, but it does not have the drawbacks
of Winframe.
Winframe is based around NT3.51 - there is your biggest disadvantage. ICA
also supports the remote port mapping/printing facility of RDP5.1

Win2kAS, or whatever MS varient you choose, is permitted to be an SMB type
server too, ie you can use it for all normal NT type stuff.... IIRC you
can't do that kinda stuff with Citrix options, it's a breach of the licence,
etc.... alteast it was with WinFrame - although technically, nothing stopped
you doing it....

But, in its favour, the Citrix varients are [normally] C2 compliant and, of
course, the clients are freely available and supported, and, I want to say,
open on the protocol spec's, but why do I think I am probably wrong on this
matter....
